COVID AND VACCINES:

As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds, we at Pedios want to assure you that we are helping prevent the spread of the virus, while providing care for our patients and trying to keep our patients and office staff protected.

We will be starting sick visits by telemedicine if your child is experiencing cough, fever, sore throat, ear pain, congestion, runny nose or headache. We will determine if COVID testing is necesary, and if so, what kind of testing - PCR or antigen. We are performing antigen testing in blocks scheduled based on availability of nursing staff outdoors at our office. We refer to Luries or local urgent cares for PCR testing.

VACCINATIONS - We want to remind you to practice measures that help prevent the spread of COVID-19 including good hand washing, wearing a mask properly and most importantly getting your child vaccinated when they are eligible! In our area, both River Forest and Oak Park schools will be conducting large scale drives for vaccinations staffed by area health professionals (you may see us there!). Children in private schools and middle school will be welcomed at their local school. Pedios will get vaccines from the Oak Park Health Department after these drives have ended; we are unsure as to the exact amount or dates of this distribution. Please be patient - we will post updates on our facebook page as we are able - it is very hard in a small office to comply wtih the 15 minutes waiting time and give out large quantities.

Please check our website or Facebook page regularly for updates given the quickly changing situation with this pandemic. The CDC and Lurie Children's are also good sources of information. Thank you for your help as we navigate these changes.
