Growth and Development/Well Child Visits

From the newborn stage through age 18, we carefully track your child’s growth and development during regularly scheduled well child visits. These visits not only help us monitor your child’s health, but also give us a chance to address your questions and celebrate your child’s progress.

What to Expect:

  • Newborn to Age 2: Visits begin just days after birth and continue frequently throughout infancy and toddlerhood.
  • At each visit, we measure and review your child’s head circumference, length, and weight.
  • At each visit, we measure and review your child’s head circumference, length, and weight.
  • Families of infants and toddlers receive more in-depth online developmental screenings at regular intervals. These screenings help you explore your child’s new skills and challenges in a fun, interactive way at home.
  • We explore diet, sleep, behavior and educate families on best practices for helping their kids thrive.
  • We follow the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics and perform vaccines and lead/anemia screenings as indicated.

Ages 3 and Up:

  • After age 3, well-child visits are typically scheduled annually. We continue to follow their growth.
  • These checkups are a great time to discuss school, activities, diet, sleep, behavior, and social development.
  • For teens, we include mental health screenings as part of their overall care.
  • As indicated, vaccines are given.

If concerns arise at any stage, we partner with a wide network of community and hospital-based specialists to provide additional support and resources to help your child thrive.
